On the 20th of March myself and my Mam went to the #BlogSqaud Cork for a girly day out. The event was held in the gorgeous Kinsley Hotel I had never been to this hotel before but had heard great reviews about it and I now know why it is fab!!. The event started at 12 and we were introduced to James from the blog Jus de James who was the host for the day he was hilarious and was a great host to have for the event.
First up was a hair demo from the salon All Dolled Up which is located in Ballincollig you can check out their website here they are also on the app What Salon which is something I haven’t tried yet but sounds really handy as you can book appointments for lots of salons through this one application. The hairdressers showed us how to create three different looks straight hair, a sleek ponytail and a curly look. They talked through the products they used and about their own salon which is somewhere I would love to try as they seemed so passionate about hairdressing and I’m sure they do amazing work.
Next up was the gorgeous Rosie Connolly from Hearts, Heels and Handbags she went through her favourite skincare products explaining what each one is for, the prices and some useful tips. One of the tips was how to remove tan using Baby Oil which I went straight home and did myself and it really did work so thanks Rosie! Some of the products that was recommended were: Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliationg Facial Pads, Glam Glow, Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore and Shine Daily Scrub and the Biotanics range from Boots.
After Rosie talked about her favourite skincare products Lisa Jordan from Just Jordan talked about her favourite beauty products which ranged from hair products to tan products to make up products and we had such a laugh with Lisa she is so funny. Some of the hair products she recommended were from the Kevin Murphy range, she also talked about the tansie which is a great idea and also the morphe eyeshadow pallette.
Next was my favourite Snapchatter Karen from Lovely Girly Bits who talked to us about snapchat, how and when she started her blog Lovely Girly Bits and chatted about blogging in general. I had met Karen at the Blog Awards Ireland before and she was so friendly so I really enjoyed her chat and she seemed so humbled with the whole experience.
We then had Afternoon Tea which was so nice one thing I would say is it did take a long time for the food to come out especially for people who had to travel like my mam I think everyone was starving by 2 O’ clock. During the Afternoon Tea Rosie and Holly White hosted a fashion show with some looks from shops around Cork such as Meadows and Byrne, Verso and Pheonix V.
After the fashion show Rosie did an eyebrow demo and Lisa finished off the look with a full make up demo. We then had a personal trainer talk about fitness and Holly White from Holly.ie talk about her career.
Throughout the event there were spot prizes for tweeting and posting on Instagram about the event. I was lucky enough to win a great prize of a hamper full of Kevin Murphy products which I was over the moon about.
At the end for the event all the speakers were there to answer any questions we had. We also got some snaps with each of them. They are all so friendly and really made an effort to get photos and chat to everyone that attended.
When I got home I rooted through my goodie bag this is what we got:
It really was a great event if you are interested in going to the #BlogSquad events you can find out more info on their website here.
