My Healthy Eating Journey – Detox Drink

Hey Dolls…

For my new years resolution for 2015 I have decided to get fit and eat healthy. I know I say this every year but I really think 2015 will be my year hehe.

I recently purchased Charlotte Crosby’s 3 Minute Belly Blitz work out dvd and completed 6 rounds on my first go at it and was super proud. The next day my legs were so sore so I gave it a miss the second night. I then got sick and have been for the last week so I could not work out I am a bit upset by this because I was looking forward to going for walks and start to work on my tummy area. This is my main problem area and really want to shed a bit of this weight for my trip to London at the end of the month.

While I was sick I wasn’t eating much and when I was eating I was trying to be super healthy. I came across a photo of a detox drink on facebook that helps maintain a flat tummy and I said I would give this a go.

I am a really organised neat freak some times and when it came to trying out this detox drink I had to get the perfect water bottle too hehe. I had seen the Voss water bottles before and thought how cool and unique they were and I went on the hunt to find one. Living in Ireland its hard to find brands like these so while in work one day I went on to our website Amazon and searched for it. It returned a lot of searches so I wanted to make sure it was the glass bottle I was ordering after reading a lot of reviews I purchased one for €9.00.
You can check it out here!

Delivery to Ireland was super expensive and the total was now up to like 20 something euro no way I was paying that for a water bottle. Instead I used Parcel Motel to avail of free uk delivery so in total the delivery was €3.95 not too bad 🙂

After been out of work for a couple of days now today was my first day back and I have my detox drink with me I chopped up some lemons, limes, cucumber and mint and put it in the water last night. I have been drinking it all day and it tastes really good.

Here are some of the benefits of putting these fruits in water:

Lemon/lime: Having lemon and lime in water especially in the morning is really good for bloating and heartburn, gives you a good portion of your essential daily Vitamin C and is really great for your skin of course there are many more benefits but I’m not going to name them all out.

Cucumber: Helps hydrate, helps blood pressure, when feeling hungry drinking cucumber water can help you last until your next meal time.

Mint: Gives the water a nice flavour and you digest more effectively.Mint also helps relax cramped up stomach muscles.

I hope you enjoyed this post.
